Hi!  My name is Leasha (pronounced like Lee-sha…like leash with /uh/ on the end). I have been a school psychologist for the last 13 years. I’m trying to transition into a Scrum Master role. I have my CSM (as of Aug 2023). I attended a “teacher to scrum” bootcamp sponsored through Life After Teaching.

People whom I met on LinkedIn kept telling me how much my job sounded like SM so I had to check it out. There’s a TON of overlap. I was running assessment teams, in mostly thirty-day cycles, as a servant leader. I used facilitation skills pretty much daily, but also coaching, mentoring, and teaching at other times. There was also a good bit of consultative work, but what there wasn’t much of is working with children. I never did therapy or counseling with students; that was not the nature of the job (it wasn’t a mental health job although psychologist is in the title).

I’m open to connect on LinkedIn as well. I’m always seeking to learn more, especially since I did not come from a specifically tech background. Understanding how people work together and meeting people where they are ARE the things I do well coming from a psych background.
