• Last week I had an onboarding meeting with @tojewunmi . With as busy as I’ve been lately (coaching PSM2, helping a few clients with their website/SEO/ecommerce, working on my degree, etc.) I wasn’t sure I would have time. But, the onboarding meeting didn’t take as long as I was thinking it would take, and it was helpful. I learned a lot about Simply Agile and the job section of the organization. That onboarding meeting then led to today…

Today I had a screening interview with Charlene. Charlene is how I found out about Simply Agile (I watched her session on Team Working Agreements and found it to be very helpful). Anyway, wow, the interview was wonderful. Sure, there were questions asked that touched on important elements of Scrum, yet what I truly appreciated was that it wasn’t a typical “question and answer” style interview. After Charlene would bring up a topic and I would share about it, SHE would then also share her thoughts, tips, and ideas about each topic. Sometimes it added to or related to what I shared. A few times she was providing input that helped me grow in my understanding. I have never had an interview that was so beneficial and helpful to me, and, at the same time, she’s very insightful and I’m sure came away with an accurate assessment of my skills, as well as my strengths and weaknesses.

Charlene, with all you have going on I have no idea how you found time to fit me in (well, there’s no way you found time as if it was just sitting around: I’m sure you worked to “make” time for me) — thank you, I truly appreciated our meeting.

🚨 And, for anyone who is new to the community here, especially if you are looking for a position, I recommend you participate in the onboarding and screening process. 👍

One final comment… While I’m pushing hard during this season of personal development and growth, I am also working to prioritize some down time. Last week I had an errand in Kansas City. I scheduled it for the evening (so it wouldn’t impact my work and study time) and brought the whole family along. When the errand was done, we then spent some time at Union Station, and the children had a blast on the covered train bridge out back. We then walked through the park up to the WWI Memorial. Had a delightful time, and came back recharged and ready to keep plugging away on priorities! I’ll include a selfie from inside Union Station’s Grand Hall.
