SustainabilityI had an absolute blast promoting Planet Earth as our stakeholder at #Agile2024! 🎉
During the interaction we brainstormed about the questions:
👉 What is needed to halve your company’s IT carbon footprint by 2030?
👉 How can you contribute to that from your role?
Many great ideas were discussed (☝️ we used the tables as Circles of Influence!).
Then the attendees defined their own personal small steps for the planet 🌍.

Talk to the team on footprint reduction.
If leadership is not bought in, argue cost reduction.
Create metrics dashboards for power utilization.

Tune power consumption settings for non-production systems.
Enable automatic shutdown for systems that are not in use.
Limit meeting records that need to be stored for 7 years.
Implement nightly dev system shut down.

@Marjolein_Pilon I love this post and am so excited about the commitment these great people made to help the planet with so many actionable steps. Who knew? I was thinking, how do we get more people to commit, and wouldn’t it be awesome, if at Agile2025, we could, with confidence, share the impact that “Promoting Planet Earth” as our stakeholder has had on our planet in just one year? Let’s measure it!
